“Fifteen thousand won for a train discount, a free ticket and a card?”

The K-Tour Pass costs KRW 15,000 and is sold only to foreign visitors. It bundles a 50% AREX coupon, a free entry to 1 of 35 Busan attractions and a WOWPASS card, plus either 40% off a ride to Busan or KRW 24,000 off a Korail Pass.

Korea launched it on October 1, 2026 as a pilot for travelers heading south from Seoul. The catch is the deadline:

every coupon and the mobile ticket expire on December 31, 2026

. If your trip falls before the new year, the math is worth a minute.

K-Tour Pass at a glance

Price KRW 15,000 for either version. Pass 1 adds a 40% coupon for a train or bus to Busan (up to KRW 24,000). Pass 2 adds KRW 24,000 off a Korail Pass. Both include an AREX one-way coupon (50%, up to KRW 6,000), one free attraction out of 35, discounts at about 50 partner shops and a WOWPASS card. Sold on Klook and Hop and Hop. Valid until December 31, 2026.

K-Tour Pass 1 vs Pass 2: what each one gives you

Both passes cost the same and share most of their perks. The only real choice is the transport coupon. Pass 1 is built for a single trip to Busan. Pass 2 is built for travelers who already plan to buy a Korail Pass for a few days of unlimited trains.

Option Price Transport coupon
K-Tour Pass 1 KRW 15,000 40% off a train or bus to Busan (up to KRW 24,000)
K-Tour Pass 2 KRW 15,000 KRW 24,000 off a Korail Pass
Included in both — AREX one-way 50% off (up to KRW 6,000)

⚠️ Using one coupon ends your refund

You can cancel for a full refund only while nothing has been used. Registering the AREX, Busan transport or Korail Pass coupon counts as use. So does looking up the WOWPASS issuance code or scanning the mobile ticket once at any partner. Screenshots and printouts of the barcode may be rejected, so keep the live mobile screen ready.

How to use the K-Tour Pass, step by step

Everything starts with one purchase on Klook or Hop and Hop. After that you collect three things in turn: a set of transport coupons, a mobile ticket with a barcode, and an 8-digit voucher number for the physical card.

1

Buy online and register the coupons

Pick Pass 1 or Pass 2 on Klook or Hop and Hop. The 40% or KRW 24,000 coupon is applied when you book the train, bus or Korail Pass.

2

Pick up the WOWPASS card (optional)

Scan your passport and voucher number at a K-Tour Pass kiosk in Incheon Airport, Gimpo Airport, Seoul Station, Busan Station or Gimhae Airport. The card comes with no balance.

3

Show the barcode in Busan

Choose one of the 35 free attractions and visit it once. Partner shops and cafes give discounts every time you show the barcode.

Is the K-Tour Pass worth KRW 15,000?

Start with the transport coupons, because they are the only part with a fixed cash value. The AREX coupon covers half of a one-way airport train, up to KRW 6,000. The Busan coupon or the Korail Pass coupon is worth up to KRW 24,000.

Max out both and the coupons alone return KRW 30,000, twice the price of the pass

. That figure is a ceiling, not a promise. A 40% coupon only reaches KRW 24,000 on a ticket of KRW 60,000 or more, and the AREX coupon is for the nonstop express train, not the all-stop service. The free attraction is the second layer. The list runs from Lotte World Busan and the Songdo Marine Cable Car to small hanbok rental shops, so its value depends entirely on which one you pick. The WOWPASS card is the third layer. It works as a prepaid card and a T-money transit card across Korea, but it arrives empty and you top it up yourself. One more limit is easy to miss: the free attraction is one visit at one place. Partner discounts, on the other hand, have no usage cap. Children are not covered by a single rule either. Free-use criteria differ by transport option and by attraction, so check the attraction you want before buying a pass for a child. Busan was chosen for the pilot because it is the most popular destination outside Seoul for foreign visitors. The government plans to expand the program to five regional tourism zones linked to local airports next year, with a budget of KRW 9 billion. For now, though, the pass only works for Busan.

📊 Coupon caps compared with the pass price

Each bar shows the most a single benefit can save you, next to what the pass costs. One transport coupon on its own can already pay the pass back if your ticket is expensive enough.

If you are still unsure, match the pass to the shape of your trip. The right version depends less on the attractions and more on how you plan to get to Busan.

※ Notes and disclaimer
Benefits, prices and rules are taken from the Korea Tourism Organization K-Tour Pass page (posted September 17, 2026) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announcement of October 1, 2026. The KRW 30,000 figure is our own calculation of the two coupon caps combined. The press announcement lists the AREX discount under Pass 1, while the official product page lists it for both passes; the product page is followed here. Check the seller page before you pay, as terms may change during the pilot.
